This should only automatically appear once after each update of Myriad. Changes made over the last few months are detailed here and each change is denoted by a 'Version Number'. The 'Version number' of your system can be found in the About Window. This file contains a list of changes that have been made to Myriad v2.5 or higher. This list may not be the full history due to size limits. In the event of a query or for a complete history, please send an e-mail to support@psquared.net Thank you for reading this information. P Squared Development team. v2.6.41 Added additional error handling to writing Advert Reconciliation files. v2.6.39 Fixed a problem where editing some carts that contained non-standard length 'Broadcast Wave' information (aka BEXT) could corrupt the audio file making it unplayable. Fixed a problem with Advert Reconciliation not being written. v2.6.38 Myriad now uses the Advert Log Cart Offset when automatically creating Advert Reconciliation files - note that this does NOT apply to manually created REC files using the Cart Logs Report in Myriad Manager Importing audio from Transport files caused the intro/extro timing information to rounded to the nearest second. Added Further Debugging Information v2.6.37 Myriad can now automatically detect P Squared SmoothEdit as an audio editor. There are new options on the QNXT Database Settings Window on the OCP/STS window that allow you to send Voice Link information to OCP. Please note that this option only applies if the voice link starts before the next song, not if the voice link starts after the next song has already started v2.6.36 Fixed a problem with the Songs search window where entering details on the Advanced tab occasionally wouldn't return any results - usually but not always when searching for songs from a particular Year. STS Users who turned off the "Wait for STS to finish playing the item" would have problems with the Estimated Start times and running to time. v2.6.34 Fixed a further bug relating to high screen resolutions (see v2.6.29). This occured when trying to bring up the Cart Browser from the Q-NXT Screen. v2.6.33 Due to new fields being added to the Q-NXT Database, you will need to quit from myriad and AutoTrack on every computer before running this version for the first time. If you don't, you will see a message that Myriad could not add InformationString3 and 4 to the database. Quit from myriad on all computers and then rerun and this will correct the problem. v2.6.29 Myriad now supports dualscreen systems running at higher resolutions such as 1280x1024 Additional settings have been added for myriad to send "Item Nearing End" informtion to OCP. This information is not used at present and is for future use. v2.6.28 IMPORTANT NOTE: Changes to the way that split advert breaks are cued and played by myriad mean that you must update to Myriad STS v2.6.6 or higher to use this version of Myriad: Myriad no longer cues the next item after a split advert break the moment the split is fired. Instead, STS sends a message back to Myriad 10 seconds before the end of the ad break so Myriad knows to cue and lock the next item at that point. (Myriad STS v2.6.6 can also now play 2 advert breaks back to back, but there may be a small silence between whilst it cues and plays the second break) In Myriad Manager, the Import Audio Utility can now interpret 3 lines from the filename when using the format Line1-Line2-Line3.wav Certain Q-NXT diagnostic modes used by P Squared for diagnosing problems with Split items have been updated to correct a problem when playing split cart groups. This does not affect users, only P Squared's ability to test the QNXT Audio Engine. The name of the user currently logged in is now displayed in the top right hand corner of the screen. This makes it easier to see who hasn't logged out when they should have! Fixed a bug with the next item remaining locked when you put Q-NXT into Standby. There is a new option in the Q-NXT Database Settings that sets the ending type of new entries added to the log to "Stop" rather than "Segue". This ending obviously only takes effect when in "Live" mode. The New Q-NXT mode window (used when you right click on the Q-NXT mode window to change the mode that this 'hour' in the log will run in) would previously be displayed partially off the top of the window if you had changed the Information Bar to display at the top of the window. More debugging information has been added, and all debugging messages are now written to a file rather than to message boxes displayed on screen. This means it is easier to run in debug mode unattended. v2.6.26 New keyboard shortcuts are available on the Audiowall - details of these can be found in the myriad documentation. The "right-click" keyboard button now works on the Audiowall When Exporting a Cart to a Transport file from the Cart Report in Myriad Manager you would previously see a "Debug" message - this has been removed. When dragging a cart from the audiowall into Q-NXT, if Q-NXT found that cart in the Songs Library and it had an "End" ending according to Autotrack then the item was prevented from ever being Faded regardless of QAE Settings. This has now been changed to match the status of entries as they are pushed in by AutoTrack which is to follow the QAE rules v2.6.25 You can now have multiple pages of Other Jump Buttons. When you create more than 25 buttons, new buttons appear in the top right corner of the window allowing you to choose the page you want to view. Myriad Manager can now generate and automatically upload Support Files that help P Squared to provide Technical Support and simplify getting your configuration information to the Support Engineers. Added a new option in Hardware setup to allow you to trigger the Segue Edit button by hardware. This therefore performs the same actions as the space bar when using the Segue Edit feature in Q-NXT. You should note that this does NOT answer the final "Save Yes/No" question, and triggering this hardware line whilst this message box is on screen will give unpredictable results. When viewing Cart Play Logs in Myriad Manager, a new column is now shown that gives the actual duration of the cart so you can easily compare it against the Played duration. Any discrepancies are shown in red. Users who are scheduling with AutoTrack can now right click on songs in the Q-NXT Log and choose a new option "Song Information" which will display the information for that cart from the Song Library Previously if the current item in Q-NXT was set to "Stop At End" and you then seg-edited it once it had started playing it, still stopped at the end. This has now been fixed. Fixed a problem with double clicking on carts in the Cart Report in Myriad Manager Fixed a problem where the keyboard shortcut in Edit Cart would not "click" the Play/Stop button once audio had started playback v2.6.24 IMPORTANT! Due to changes in the default settings of SmoothStream your levels may sound different than with older versions of Myriad if your main playout level is NOT 100%. If this is the case, then use the SmoothTweak options under advanced in Audio Setup to select "Fade Normally" instead of "Fade Quickly..." Previously Myriad would send an instruction to OCP and STS to clear it's internal information just prior to sending the information about what Q-NXT is playing next. This has been removed as this was causing OCP to continuously update even when nothing had actually changed. Information about what Q-NXT is due to play next is now no longer sent to OCP during the final 2 seconds of audio items (the period when the log item is locked and cannot be changed) as there is no point as this information will change in 2 seconds time anyway. This information will also already have been sent during "Pre-Cue" when the audio is cued ready to play. Added a warning notice to the Copyright Tab on the Edit Cart window explaining that AutoTrack Pro users should enter copyright details through the Song and Jingle/Link cards rather than through edit cart. The Mass Import Audio function in Myriad Manager can now mass import from Myriad Transport Files. If a database is encountered that is corrupted, then a backup copy of the original file is taken (it has the same filename but is followed by a number and now has the extension .BAK) and then it is automatically repaired. v2.6.23 There is a new option in Myriad Configuration under Audio Setup adjacent to the settings for the Audio-Editor. This allows you to configure your audio editor to run at Windows' "Idle Speed" - Myriad will then run the editor with a much lower priority than Myriad. This helps to resolve audio glitches that occur in playback whilst editing carts in the editor. Fixed a problem with pressing the pause/break key whilst running Myriad in the old Audiowall-Only mode. There is a new option on the Q-NXT Settings window on the General Tab that makes Q-NXT Jump to "now" (i.e. presses the Home button) when activating Q-NXT. This reduces confusion for users that forget to press home before starting Q-NXT resulting in the wrong part of the log being played out. This is NOT recommended for users who use Myriad in Live Assist, only those who only use Full automation or Auto-Fade modes. You can now right click on a cart on the Audiowall and Export to Wav as well as Export to Transport File Exporting to Transport Files now has the default filename as the first description line of the cart. Fixed a problem with scrolling back to the beginning of the audiowall after certain "jumps" giving a set of message boxes on screen. Using the Q-NXT Information Screen at either the beginning or the end of the log and attempting to move further back or forward would caused Myriad to exit. Previously you could set a password that had characters that cannot be entered into the Login box (i.e. ! or / etc.) - you can no longer set these characters into passwords. Resolved a problem with Ripping longer CD tracks on some workstations. v2.6.22 Added support for early versions of AutoTrack Pro v3 - this corrects a "Null" error that occurs on some systems. Added the word "available" to the end of the message you get when attempting to edit a cart and the cart player is in use. Fixed a problem where right clicking on a non-audio item in the Q-NXT Log caused the "Change Type" menu option to disappear. Fixed a problem with the Cart Report in Myriad Manager constantly returning certain carts when using the Incorrect Lengths report even when set to automatically correct them. v2.6.21 Fixed a problem with level triggered recording causing corrupted recordings. Changes to the way Powernet Licenses are handled in Myriad Manager The Manual button on the Q-NXT Window now sends information through to OCP. Fixed a problem with importing single pictures at a time on the edit cart window - importing multiple pictures was not affected. v2.6.19 The Cart Preview on the Jump To Cart window now shows the same length of the cart as the Audiowall - previously it would only show the overall length. Tranport Files have now been implemented. These allow you to "package" up all of the information stored in a cart into a standard ZIP file that can then be sent to another system and easily imported. This is in addition to the CartChunk feature, as although the CartChunk does store a lot of the information, it cannot store all of it. A Transport File contains all of the desriptions, copyright info, timing, colours, notes, internet information and pictures in one file. This is ideal for emailing items to other stations such as adverts etc. Note however that Audio files can be quite large and take a long time to send using Email! To Export a Transport file, either right click on it on the Audio Wall and choose Export Transport File, or click Edit and then on the Other Tab click Export. You will be prompted for a filename. To Import a Transport File, either right click on the an empty cart on the Audio Wall and choose "Import WAV or Transport File" (which now detects both WAV files and Tranport ZIP files) and select the file, or again on the Edit Cart window under the Other Tab click Import. Another way to import Transport Files is to simply drag them from Windows Explorer onto an empty cart on the Audiowall. Note that you cannot "Link" to a Transport File, but Linked Carts are correctly exported using Transport Files. Initial Support for P Squared IRIS v1 has also been included, options are available on the Global Settings tab in Myriad Configuration for Created Iris Transport Lists. Unless you are using IRIS, it is not worth using this feature. For more information about IRIS and how it can automatically transfer information from one Myriad site to another, please contact P Squared directly. Corrected a problem that under certain circumstances caused audio being ripped from certain CD to be slightly distorted. Fixed a problem with editing segues on items in Live Assist hours that are set to stop at the end prior to seg editing. v2.6.18 Corrected a problem that could cause Myriad/Manager to exit whilst compiling a pad into a single file, or ripping in a CD Sorting a Cart Report by Cart number now lists the carts in the correct order Users who have set sweepers to play at the start of intros in Q-NXT rather than then end of intros can now use Ducking Level control. Fixed a problem with moving a cart in Audiowall only mode Fixed a problem with cancelling ripping shortly after starting. We have changed the logic of the "Carts not played in X days report" - it now shows carts that have no "last played history" stored on them (visible from right clicking on a cart on the audiowall and choosing information) - in other words when it had been played at least once. Previously carts were only shown when they had been played at least once (or once since clearing their last plays history) Added \ and / to the separators list when "Ripping" cd's v2.6.17 The problem with running the Audiowall only mode of Myriad has been resolved. There is now a Delete Cart option on the right click menu on carts in the audiowall The "Repair Database" function has been moved into the "Compact Database" function in Myriad Configuration New users are now prompted for their License Code during automatic setup Fixed a problem with non-cartchunk compliant wav files being imported coloured black. Re-instated the Rip Settings option screen in Myriad Configuration under Global Settings. Due to slight changes in the way CDRipping setup information is stored, anyone who has altered the settings in the Audwall.ini file will need to reset these in the Rip Settings screen. When ripping CD's, you can now query a CDDB database on the internet to retrieve the names of the files. Before doing this, you must enter your email address in the CD Ripping section in Myriad Configuration. Before querying for names, you should ensure that you are connected to the internet. Windows NT users may problems using the ripper if they don't have an "ASPI" manager for their computer. If you have a CD burner installed you will more than likely have one, otherwise have a look on the net for one. www.windac.de has a decent section in their support guide about ASPI and why it's needed. Previously the first time you opened the Jump to Cart screen, the cart had a large red cross through it - this has been changed so it doesn't appear. v2.6.16 The following changes apply to Q-NXT Database Settings: New setting that allows you to say how many "Next" entries are sent to OCP+. You should set this to the maximum you are displaying on your OCP "outputs" to save wasting time sending information that won't be used. New option screen under Ads/Log Import tab allows you to use the Cart Ranges defined in the Log Importer to determine what type of entry carts will be added as. In other words dropping a cart from the "Songs" range, will put it into the log as a song rather than a not-droppable or fadeable cart. Changes for STS Users: You can specify that Myriad shouldn't wait for STS to complete running, and instead should carry on immediately. Several key changes in the way Myriad and STS communicate mean that you should upgrade STS to v2.6.2 or higher to use this version. When an advert break in Myriad STS is empty (i.e. non-existent) it is now "soft deleted" in the Q-NXT log. Other Changes: You can now "rip" songs directly from within Myriad from the Audiowall by right clicking on an empty cart and choosing "CD Track" from under "Import Audio" on the menu. There are several configuration options available under Global Settings in Myriad Configuration. Note that using the Normalise function can be quite slow on some systems. It will rip the tracks using the same audio format as set in Audio Settings>Recording/Editing Settings. There is a new scripts option on the QuickMenu. This brings up a window that allows you to read scripts "on-air". These are read from a new Scripts folder in your Myriad Data Location. To create a script, use WordPad to save a file into this folder with a .RTF extension. The filename is then displayed in the Script Viewer - i.e. weather.rtf is shown as weather If your Songs Library is empty and you are running on a dual screen, the tabstrip along the top is now hidden as it is not needed. Added an option in Myriad Configuration under Audio Setup>Recording and editing settings to allow you to change the priority of the audio editor when editing carts. You can therefore dedicate more processor time to Myriad rather than the audio editor when editing audio whilst playing out carts. Added an option in Myriad Configuration under Audiowall Setup that makes Myriad display the "hours"in the times of carts on the audiowall screen as well as minutes and seconds. Added a new option that forces users to login before they can quit from Myriad when Q-NXT is running. This is to stop the security hole where a user can halt station output without having to authenticate. This option is on by default, but can be turned off from inside Myriad Manager in the settings window. You can now set a hardware input line to cue or play a given Cart. This can be set-up in Hardware Setup in Myriad Configuration We have changed the database engine that Myriad and it's support programs used. Previously we used Microsoft DAO v3.51, we have now upgraded to v3.6 (Also known as v4.0 or Access2000). You shouldn't notice any practial differences, but new databases created with this version of Myriad will not be accessible by older versions of Myriad. You can now further narrow down the list of results in the User History window in Myriad Manager by computer name and whether the action failed or succeeded You can now only access the Settings Menu and the Import Menu in Myriad Manager if you have System Admin rights You can now drag from the Cart Logs Report into a Cart player Large speed increase in selecting multiple items in the Cart Play Logs window in Myriad Manager. More work relating to locking with the User History If you click cancel from the Login Screen while a cart is playing or paused you are now asked if you are sure you want to quit. If you import a read only file (i.e. from a CD) the read only flag is now removed to stop problems with editing. If you choose to play only the hook of a cart that has a loop, looping is disabled for that play. Improved support for handling parts of the audiowall becoming inaccessible (i.e. due to a computer being rebooted). Fixed a problem with logging in after a user has logged out NOT using the cross on the audiowall and NOT by pressing Shift+Escape keys that meant that the edit/move cart buttons on the audiowall were not being updated with the new users access rights. Fixed a problem where jumping to a new cart number on the audiowall didn't cause the notes to be displayed until you scrolled around the audiowall. Fixed a problem where corrupted cart notes could not be edited in Edit Cart Fixed a problem with P Squared Hardware Manager not being able to set the last 8 hardware lines on a PCI1750 Fixed a problem with having no cart players and trying to play a cart. It still doesn't play though. Kind of a given really. Fixed a problem where users could import files by right clicking on empty carts even if they didn't have editing rights Fixed a problem with setting the "Duck Volume" in Myriad Configuration Fixed a problem with the way Microsoft rounds certain large numbers that causes some hours' times to be calculated incorrectly and can cause underrunning in some cases. v2.6.15 Fixed a problem with settings passwords for users whos login name is longer than 8 characters Removed support for the legacy Active Terminal List Fixed a problem where Myriad Manager could erroneously moan about putting users into groups that only allow single members. Fixed a problem where quiting from myriad with the Cart Details window open caused Myriad to shut down incorrectly You can now insert a hardware pulse into the q-nxt log from the right click menu. Also corrected a problem where hardware Pulses didn't work on PCI1750 cards or the Legacy Serial Driver Output on the hardware manager. If you attempt to set a loop smaller than 0.5 second, this is overwridden by Myriad - this is particularly obvious if you are setting loop positions in the Cart Editor - Further improves handling of "odd" loops in Edit Cart When Block Moving/Copying carts in the Cart Report window, you can now cancel the process when asked whether you want to overwrite existing files. Changed the way Cart Chunk information is updated to fool Cool Edit into not-redrawing the PK files each time a cart is opened. There is a new option on the Options menu in Myriad Configuration that stops Myriad writing the Users history. This is usefull for users having Microsoft locking database issues with some of their office workstations Slight changes to the way user histories are written to help with the locking issue above. Also internal changes to "flush" the data to disk sooner. You can now press the "H" key on the keyboard to play the "hook" of a cart. Holding the CTRL key down whilst pressing the "H" key cues the cart hook instead Fixed a problem where logging out and logging back in again after using the "Jump To Cart" button on the audiowall could cause Myriad to exit suddenly. Changed the way Myriad Manager counts the number of carts highlighted in a Cart Report to massively speed up the process. Added checks to see if WAVE files are marked read only when updating CartChunk Information Fixed a problem with executing Commands sent by AutoTrack Previously, cancelling a Search for Song window in the song library would disable the search button. This is now fixed. There is now an option on the Q-NXT Settings window that allows you to show entries in the log using the colours from the cart for an item (if have one) instead of the normal entry colours. By default, Myriad now stores the Cart's Descriptions in the CartChunk information rather than the copyright details. This can be changed from the Advanced section of Audio Setup in Myriad Configuration. The default option for new installations is now to "Duck" carts when playing sweepers rather than to play all lower and play sweepers higher. Myriad now reads and writes the Background and text colour, and the ending type (Fades/ends/other) of carts into the CartChunk in the actual WAV file. This is stored in the UserDef field. Fixed a problem where a user could run cart reports in Myriad Manager even if they didn't have edit carts rights Fixed a problem where you couldn't put Myriad into standby and then manually play the next item in the log having dragged it into a player. You can now right click on an entry in the Q-NXT Log and change it's type from carts to jingles to songs to adverts etc. Further improved handling of errors in the Q-NXT Log caused by deleting of links put in by v2.6.11 or earlier v2.6.14 There is now a "Refresh" button on the Cart Report screen that allows you to re-run the same report again (usefull if you are editing items and want to see if the changes have taken effect) With immediate effect we have removed all support for GIF files with carts. You can now use either JPG or BMP files instead. This is becuase we have become aware that GIF files use technology which patents are exclusively held by Unisys Corporation and we do not intend to license such technology from them. If you have a large number of GIF files that you previously had used on your audiowall, you should use a converter to convert these to JPG files or BMP files. Paint Shop Pro from JASC software includes a batch convertor to do so - check with JASC for details and instructions. As long as the conversion is performed correctly, you will not have to change or import any information. Printing has been re-written in Myriad Manager reports to improve stability when printing errors occur. Many of the reports in Myriad Manager have a new look which allows you to resize columns - ideal for printing. You can now choose to print only a section of the user history rather than the whole thing. The Edit Cart screen was previously always defaulting the loop start and end time to 4.5 seconds even if you weren't using the loop feature on a cart. This has now been fixed. Fixed a problem were occasionally clicking Play on some compressed carts from within Edit Cart would cause Myriad to exit. Fixed a problem with OCP and STS not recieving the first set of information from Myriad if they have to reconnect to each other Fixed a problem with deleting Voice links adjacent to a text message that would cause Myriad to then exit when it came time to play that area of the log. You can now run a Copyright Report from within Myriad Manager. Note that this only works on Myriad v2.6 or play logs. If you are using AutoTrack rather than AutoTrack Pro or Selector, then some of the search options in Search for songs are irrelevant. These are now hidden. Web Notes information from AutoTrack is now passed through to OCP. Also some internal changes to the way some reference information is delivered to OCP Added an option under Advanced Audio Settings in Configuration to use a "Legacy" copy/move mode for the audiowall. This is for users who experience problems with some computers with phantom error messages when copying/moving carts. You should only turn this on if P Squared advise as it can cause audio to drop out whilst copying/moving carts. Fixed a problem with editing the last few entries in the Q-NXT Log using the edit menu. Fixed a problem with between 3 and 4 GB disk space free when using Record or Edit cart v2.6.13 Improved automatic configuration to include automatic distribution of Workstation licenses. v2.6.12 Fixed a problem with having databases filenames that start with a number Corrected a minor problem with displaying descriptions of carts on the pad. Fixed a problem with Pauses at the end of pad runs causing Myriad to exit. The cart players being "locked" to the bottom of the screen (like the start bar) is now an option under Audio Setup, and is off by default. You can now mass change the colours of the selected carts in the Cart Report in Myriad Manager. Slight changes to the way the jump button works in the pad. Myriad Manager now has the Pad. In Myriad Manager, Cart reports and play reports are now exported directly to a pad rather than having to save it to a file for looking at later. You can then obviously save them from the pad directly. Myriad Manager can now have two players. This update includes the SmoothStream update to workaround thrid party problems with sharp fades and WDM audio glitches under Windows 2000. Myriad Configuration now links to the SmoothTweak utility. Fixed a problem with Q-NXT not dropping songs that follow songs that have a link going into them Fixed a problem with PowerNet ID's that have been inherited from old Myriad systems. Fixed a problem with canceling recording from the Edit Cart Screen. v2.6.11 Full Release! v2.6.10 Fixed a problem with Myriad Manager being unable to use UNC's for the datalocation. Improved speed of cueing with the Pad You can now export the pad to a single cart using a new "Export" option on the Pad Menu. If you are in Hook mode, only the hooks will be exported on items that have hooks set. Note that Extro's are ignored, and items are not mixed together. v2.6.9 You can now remove old jump buttons from the "Other Jumps" window. You can also add blank buttons, then drag carts onto them to assign them. Click the Edit button before clicking Add to be prompted straight away for a cart and description etc. rather than waiting until later. Fixed a problem with systems with "Individual cart files" enabled where a file not found error would occur when manipulating blank carts. Fixed a problem with displaying with the information from carts above 32000. This caused Myriad to exit to the desktop on some systems. Improved handling of Q-NXT Logs at startup that don't have anything in for the current hour. Corrected an issue where carts with a space in the 21st character of the descriptions were not displayed fully. Improved support for alternate cart locations when using Multiple Configurations. Improved the look of Multiple Configurations Fixed a problem with starting Q-NXT where the is no log for the current hour, but is some for later. v2.6.8 Fixed a problem with very long voice links. v2.6.7 The advert file format that Myriad uses has been upgraded to improve reconciliation information. Myriad now generates the Reconciliation files in the new format. See the Advert Manager for information on changes for it as well. The way that items are marked as played in Q-NXT (i.e. when they go blue) has changed. They are now stamped with the actual time that they STARTED playing, and the duration that they played for. Previously the time logged was the time the cart ENDED. The Cart Play Logs remain unchanged, and have always logged the time that the cart was started as well. Fixed a couple of problems with replacing items from the Edit Menu in Q-NXT Fixed a problem with drag and drop from the cart browser. v2.6.6 Fixed a problem where Q-NXT would underrung if forced to recalculate, or the log was edited. v2.6.5 The user history now logs which computer a user performed the logged actions on. You can now print the user history. Fixed a problem with inserting an absolute time before an item that is in the 23:00 hour, but is due to play after midnight Fixed a small issue with the buttons at the top of the cart report being grayed out when mass selecting with the mouse. A new look v2.6 cart browser has been introduced. There is a new setting in Myriad Configuration>Q-NXT Setup that will set Q-NXT to generate Ad Logs whenever it has Station Control (this is as well as the hardware options) Minor changes to the way Configuration runs when Myriad tells it to, to first setup the system. Due to changes in the way information is stored, the 800x600 minimum screen size warning may be shown again. Not that of course you would run Myriad on that low a resolution screen anyway.... The P Squared Network Control system has been re-written to drastically improve performance when sharing control of STS or OCP with other programs. The hardware settings for STS only are now hidden in Myriad Configuration. The hardware setting that controls whether Myriad logs advert plays has been moved to the Miscellaneous options list in Hardware Setup. You will need to re-set this option. The hardware setting for Q-NXT Go has been moved to the Q-NXT Other options list in Hardware Setup. You will need to re-set this option. v2.6.4 Fixed a problem with running to time when you have several Absolute Times at the start of the hour. Due to changes in the way Myriad and OCP communicate, you should upgrade to the latest OCP version. You can now manually send the Current Show/Presenter information to OCP using the OCP Update button. Implemented STS v2.6 support into Myriad v2.6. Myriad will not work correctly with v2.5 or older of STS. When you right click on an entry in Q-NXT and insert a Split Cart Group, the window that pops up queries the STS Network Master directly for the actual names of each group. This information is also updated if you only gain network control whilst the window is open. Fixed a problem where computers that did not have the Microsoft Jet Engine patch installed (i.e. some win95/98) could not succesfully start Myriad. The "Mix IN" description on Q-NXT has changed to "Next Segue" - slightly more obvious! A countdown for Split items are now shown on the Next Swgue Countdown. If you put /QNXTSTART on the command line for myriad.exe, Q-NXT will automatically start when Myriad is loaded, rather than waiting for a user to set it active. Added icons to the Delete menu on the Edit button in Q-NXT. Fixed a problem where the Q-NXT log did not update after using the Edit button in Q-NXT, and also a similar problem where softdeleting an item by clicking on it's icon didn't update the time remaining. The name of the currently logged in user, and the name of the hour that is currently on air via Q-NXT is now sent to OCP. v2.6.3 Fixed a problem with printing hours where the date would be incorrectly printed. Improved handling of printer errors when printing the Q-NXT log. Pressing the delete key on the Q-NXT screen soft deletes/restores the currently highlighted entry. There is a new setting in Audio Setup in Myriad Configuration under Playback Settings that prevents you accidentally ejecting a playing cart. You have to Cue or Pause it first. This applies to the keyboard, mouse and hardware controls. The Keyboard shortcuts for many functions have been consolidated between the Audiowall and Q-NXT - for more information, please contact us. Volume ducking is now fully operational on (Voice) Links as well as sweepers When you enter segue editor mode, the nescessary number of cart players are reserved as per the settings under Log Entries on the Q-NXT Database Settings window. These are then unavailable for use by other parts of the system (including Q-NXT) so you should avoid leaving Seg Edit mode enabled except when nescessary on live systems. Corrected a problem where you could still change the end type of an item in the current hour if you were in Automation mode (it now ignores the change as in Automation everything is treated as a go (green) Myriad Manager can now compile a list of top played carts on your system, and you can then export them to a pad list. Usefull for creating a chart rundown pad. With hooks set on the songs (see below), you would also have a very powerfull tool for creating chart promos. Probably the most asked for feature since Myriad v2.0 was released is now part of myriad - longer cart descriptions. You can now have up to 50 characters per line rather than the old limit of 20. You should avoid using older versions of Myriad with this or any newer versions of the audiowall as the descriptions will not be updated properly by older versions. Your existing carts however should be displayed properly. When Myriad starts for the first time, it will automatically back up your old cart lists into a Backups folder in the first cart location. This is in case you need to "rollback" to an older version of Myriad. The edit cart screen has been slightly altered to accomodate this change. The default cart width has been increased to show more descriptions on the audiowall at the expense of number of cart rows - you can change this from Myriad Configuration>Audiowall setup. Myriad now logs played carts in a different way, so far more information is stored including which player it's played in, and what the hardware lines are set to. For more information, run a cart logs report in Myriad Manager. When you run a report for a day that contains items logged by both old versions of myriad, and new versions, the logs for a given day will show carts played by the old version, followed by those played by the new version. This means that older versions of the copyright report generator will not be able to process files from earlier versions of Myriad. There is a new tab on the Edit Cart window that has many new features: ** New Loop section - allows you to define a section of the cart that will be repeated until you press play again, or an optional number of loops has been performed. You can also choose whether the cart "jumps" to the end of the loop when you press play again or whether it smoothly exits. You cannot have a loop start position before 4.5 seconds, and the longer the loop the better the response on exit. Compressed carts are not as accurate as Linear carts as they use a different internal structure. If a looping cart is being played by Q-NXT and is in the loop, Q-NXT Go will finish the loop rather than move straight onto the next item. ** You can set a "Hook" start and end - these allow you to define a section of a cart. For example a key part of a track for a "coming next" type feature. ** You can make certain hardware lines to be triggered at certain points in the audio. At present these are not undone when a cart ejects, so you should always ensure that you leave the hardware lines in a suitable state at the end (or when ejected early). On the Edit Cart window on the 'Other' tab is a new option to erase the Last Plays history from the edited cart. This history is responsible for highlighting a cart after it has been played (if this mode is enabled), and can be seen by right clicking on the cart and choosing the Information option. A mass erase option has also been added to the Cart Report screen in Myriad Manager. The pad has been slightly moved around to accomodate a new button. You can how have the pad play only the "hooks" from items that have them. Simply click the badly drawn hook icon to use this mode. Load and Save have now moved to a menu that drops down when you click on the ring binder at the top. If you have not specified an Audio Editor and you then try to edit the audio of a cart, Myriad now re-checks for an audio editor, and if it finds it, asks you if you want to use it. There is a new option in Q-NXT setup that makes Myriad automatically write an Advert Reconciliation file. This can be overwridden by the hardware option described immediately below. There is a new hardware input line that when triggered causes any carts currently playing that have loop sections to exit the loops immediately. This could be wired to an ISDN line such that if the line drops, the currently looping "bed" exits immediately. You can now use a hardware signal to tell myriad to not log a cart play for a given player in the cart play logs. This is on the Cart Control options in Hardware Setup in Myriad Config. For instance this could be wired to a "fader closed" signal to avoid logging "prefade" plays of a cart. You can now have a hardware output line set and cleared depending on which mode Q-NXT is in(Standby/Live Assist/Auto-Mation/Auto-Fade), you can also an input line so that activating it changes to the given mode. This is then logged in the User history. The hardware line for Q-NXT Go has moved to a new option in the Hardware Settings screen called Q-NXT Other. It is joined by an option that allows you to determine whether the PC writes the advert reconciliation files or not. This could be tied to a studio switcher so only the "active" studio adds to the reconciliation files. You can now have a hardware output line set and cleared as you take and release station control. For instance, this could be used to control an audio switcher etc. You can set a hardware output line to be a "Heartbeat". This line will then pulse at approx 4 hz whilst Myriad is running (This does not include Myriad Manager or Configuration). This is under a new "Miscellaneous" section. Audio Run Ended has also been moved to this section (only used by STS) When you "preview" and entry in Q-NXT (by choosing from the edit menu, or from the right click menu) the word "PREVIEW" is now displayed in the player. This is to show that this item will not be noticed by Q-NXT when it comes time to play it. This allows you to safely check the next item without Q-NXT trying to segue whenever you do anything with it. OCP/STS is then updated with the new information. If you want to force the next item in Q-NXT to cue early, there is a new option on the Edit Menu. Clicking/pressing the play button on the cart player that Q-NXT is next to use now triggers q-nxt. Previously this only worked from pressing the appropriate key on the keyboard, or if triggered by fader start. Removed some duplicate and redundant icons to make Q-NXT physically smaller. When Q-NXT cues up an entry ready to play, it "locks" it to stop you altering it. This is shown by a padlock icon on the left of the entry. Q-NXT has been changed so it "precues" the next item at the time given in the Q-NXT Settings, but it now doesn't ACTUALLY cue the item until 2 seconds before it is due to play. You can therefore change the item at any time up to 2 seconds prior to playing. You can see this by the padlock appearing as described above. Changed the way carts are moved and copied so the actual wav file is moved to a temporary file and renamed into position after the audiowall has been updated. This stops the Auto-Detect routines importing it before it has finished copying. You can now drag 'n' drop files directly from windows onto carts to import them. The License Code window now gives more descriptive messages if you enter a code wrongly. Myriad can now play 32,000 hz files. Installing this update of Myriad will also upgrade Scoop 1.5 to this capability. Re-written the Galleon radio clock support so you are now notified if the battery goes low whilst myriad is running, rather than only when you start it. Myriad no longer "hangs" if the radio clock has not yet recieved it's first signal. You can now test the signal strength from the powernet server rather than having to quit myriad. If the radio clock cannot be connected to when you start Myriad (perhaps the Com Port was in use by something else) there is now a button you can click on the Powernet Server to try to connect again. Myriad Manager now reads the settings for where to write advert reconciliation files to from the Q-NXT Database Myriad Manager has now been improved to read Cart Chunk and BWF information during Block Import. The front end of import has also been slightly updated, and you can now cancel the import whilst it's running from a new progress bar. When Myriad "detects" a new cart, it will attempt to decipher the title information from Cart Chunk and BWF information if it's embedded in the cart. Myriad now stores Cart Chunk information in all files that it creates or modifies automatically. There is an option on the cart Report Screen that will go through your audiowall and update the information on carts that you already have on your system. The Cart Report in Myriad Manager has been given a new look, and has a few new options. One of these is to automatically detect and import the details from correctly named myriad wav files that have been dropped into the audiowall folder. You could therefore get a bunch of files from another Myriad system, and just dump them into the folder and then run this option to have them appear correctly on the Audiowall. This is Cart Chunk and BWF compliant. By excessively popular request Block Move and Block Copy have been added to the Cart Report! You can also now run a cart report that only displays carts that have not been played in a given number of days - usefull to find never played audio. This information is taken from the Last Play history on the actual cart, rather than from the cart play history logs. Carts without any Last Play history (or cleared history) are not tested, and are therefore not shown. The Hardware Manager has been upgraded so it can now do a "Pulse". The duration is 1 second. The Other menu in Q-NXT has been rearranged, and the "Advanced" option is now only available to users with the rights to Auto-Schedule/maintain Q-NXT Logs An Icon now appears on the cart players if the cart in them has text notes. Clicking it displays the carts notes in the information panel. When a player is "Locked" (i.e. for editing a cart) it now displays a suitable Icon rather than a pair of broken blue lines. Slight change to the way AutoFade drops songs - it now drops "End" songs first, and then only if it needs to will it drop songs that "Fade". This means less chance of it dropping all the "Fade" songs! v2.6.1 Lots of improvements to calculating estimated start times. You can now determine which cart players are used to play audio. Audio from Q-NXT is now cued according to the settings in the Q-NXT Database Settings Window under Log Entries. All other audio plays according to the settings in Myriad Configuration > Audio Setup > Playback Settings. You can now choose which colours to use to display Q-NXT Log Entries. The "Choose Database Browser" has new look. Fixed a couple of issues with copying Clients and Q-NXT 2.6 Databases Following a huge amount of work, Q-NXT can now adjust the fade on the current item - much better than the previous version which could only affect items still to be cued. A graphic now appears showing which items are being displayed in the Segue Editor. You can now scroll about the Q-NXT log whilst recording a segue allowing you to read more to prom forward/back. Right clicking on a cart now gives you the option to convert it to a Link so you can edit it's position using the segue editor. When you right click on a cart on the audiowall, Myriad now checks to see if it is in the songs library, and if so, gives an extra information option that displays the song card from the library. Fixed a couple of minor recording issues when abandoning recording a link Stopped being able to edit segue's whilst recording a voice link - this got very confusing! Improved the way User histories expire. Copying, Moving, Deleting and Editing carts are now all logged in the User History "Scheduling", "Pushing" and "Pulling" adverts are now logged in the user history. Changing which mode Q-NXT is in (standby/auto etc.) is now logged in the user history. Changing the Q-NXT Settings is now logged in the user history. v2.6.0 By default, new Q-NXT Logs will be displayed with the new panel mode. Massive re-write to Licensing. You will need to obtain a new license code from P Squared. You must now choose which license type to use on each Workstation in Powernet Setup in Myriad Configuration. You can now click on the Icon next to each log entry to soft delete/restore it. If an item is Soft Deleted the icon now has a red cross through it. Changed the background color for Show Formats in Q-NXT so it isn't black, and therefore can't read the writing. The cart player now shows whether the cart fades or ends by the letter "F" or "E" next to the Time Remaining. The carts on the audiowall can now display a letter C next to the Fade/End letter to show a cart is compressed. To turn this on, go into Myriad Configuration, Audiowall Setup. Added new Find options to the right click menu on carts on the audiowall. They allow you to look for carts with similar names and sizes. Fixed a bug with auto-expiring passwords where it would ask you to change the password twice. Slight changes to Find cart to make the results list more efficient. Increased the locations that Myriad Configuration checks when looking for file and cart locations. Myriad Configuration now has menus at the top, rather than buttons at the bottom. This is to allow us to add more features in future without having to continuously move around the main Configuration Window You can now have more than 1 "Configuration Set" and choose between them at startup. To enable this mode, go into Configuration and turn on the option on the Options Menu If you only have one QNXT v2.6 database, it is automatically opened at startup. If you havea more than one, the Database Chooser is shown but you no longer edit/modify/delete databases from this window. You must Q-NXT setup in Myriad Config, or Q-NXT Setup in AutoTrack. This is nescessary becuase users have not logged in at this point, so an unauthorised person could delete the database. New Improved Tracks listing. The individual programs Myriad Live (myrlive.exe), QNXT (qnxt.exe) and QNXT Live (qnxtlive.exe) have all been rolled into one program called Myriad (myriad.exe). This means that updates can be more easily applied to the whole suite, and that new downloads of Myriad are now considerably smaller. Q-NXT v2.5 databases are now referred to as v2.6 databases. Internally there are a few changes that will require every user to quit from previous programs so that DDT (Dynamic Database Technology) can automatically update the database. This should not be a problem as you will be upgrading Myriad on all those machines anyway! Added support for importing information from Broadcast Wave Format files Fixed a problem with the Powernet not unloading if you quit by closing the q-nxt window. Improved AutoConfig and VCache Checks Added an About box to Configuration You can now use either mouse button to change the end type of an Item in the Q-NXT Log Voice Custom has been removed as a separate program, and Voice/Segue editing has been moved into the main Q-NXT screen and drastically improved. Removed support for older v2 databases, and Q-NXT has been upgraded to use the new 2.5 database instead. Many speed increases, ability to "Doughnut" logs, ability to change playout mode from Live Assist to Full Auto to AutoFade. Improved support for coming in and out of Playout modes - Q-NXT can now detect if the item that is playing was cued by Q-NXT before stopping automation, and will therefore pick up where it left off. Many improvements to following on from already playing items when starting q-nxt. Fixed a problem where the Instant carts were not displayed if the default mode is changed to Global IC's v2.5.95 Full Release Fixed a remaining issue with Finding Carts. Wish we'd never changed it now. v2.5.94 Full Release Fixed several issues with Finding Carts. v2.5.93 Full Release Improved support for Multiple INI files to allow multiple configurations to be used on a single PC. Added an option in Audio Setup in Configuration to record files that are destined for the network locally first, then transfer them. Added a new display mode to the cart players that displays audio levels and the current volume. This updates slowly under NT though. You can now determine how long it takes to fade out carts when you press eject or click with the mouse. This setting is in Audiowall Setup in Configuration You can also now determine how long it takes to fade out items when you press Q-NXT Go. This setting is in Q-NXT Database settings. Stopped users from typing characters that are unsuitable for searching the Tracks Database SmoothStream has been improved to give more diagnostic information. This can be turned on in Myriad Configuration under Advanced in Audio Setup. It is also faster due to improvements in volume management. Improved workaround for Echo Audio's driver's pausing bug. v2.5.92 Full Release If you are editing the Q-NXT Log by drag 'n' drop, you can now scroll up and down the log by hovering over the appropriate button whilst dragging. You can also jump to "now" by hovering over the "Home" button. When moving a song around in the Q-NXT Log, the played status is now cleared. The automatic disk caching check introduced in v2.5.91b can now be re-run from the Advanced page under Audio Setup in Myriad Configuration. You can now sort the results in the Find Cart Window by clicking at the top of the columns. If you try to move a cart in Q-NXT Live, it now warns you if the cart is registered by AutoTrack as being a song. To ensure this works correctly, make sure you have clicked "Update Information" on the Playout tab in AutoTrack. Fixed a small issue with clicking "Home" or pressing Home on the keyboard causing the Q-NXT log to display 1 entry to0 high in the log. v2.5.91b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta Changed to the P Squared Network Control Manager for communication with STS and OCP. Included a check when you run Myriad that makes sure your PC is correctly set for disk caching - this fixes the Out Of Memory experienced by some users running Win98. Fixed a problem with interfacing to OCP and STS Fixed a problem with Running Cart Reports in Myriad Manager on large audiowalls (i.e. >30000 carts) v2.5.90b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Fixed a problem with quiting from Myriad while recording. Q-NXT now has a new display mode that uses a "panel" system which shows more information than before. A couple of minor issues have been fixed with SmoothStream. v2.5.88b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Fixed a problem where loading pad runs would ignore Pauses that were inserted prior to saving. Also added more lines to the pad display for systems that run in a higher resolution. We have included a workaround in SmoothStream(tm) to resolve an issue where Echo cards running under windows 2000 with Echo's beta drivers don't return timing information. v2.5.87b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Added a new Hardware Cart Display option. You can now have a logic turned on whilst a cart is playing, and flashing just prior to the extro. Adjusted the Hardware Settings screen in Myriad Configuration so it only displays appropriate commands based upon whether a line is an input or an output. Fixed a problem where all cart players hardware lines would flash when any player reached it's extro. v2.5.86b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Fixed a problem with "Jumping" in an empty Q-NXT Database Added an option under Audio Setup/Advanced to increase the audio buffer size that Smoothstream(tm) uses. Changed the default buffer size that SmoothStream(tm) uses under Windows NT/2000 from 100ms to 500ms to increase reliabliilty on PC's under heavy load. Slight visual changes to the File Locations screen in Myriad Configuration Added context sensitive help to Myriad Configuration. Fixed a problem with running compressed carts reports in Myriad Manager v2.5.85b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Further improvements to Automatic Configuration. Fixed a problem with Sweepers with extros playing incorrectly in Q-NXT Fixed a problem with the Instant Carts not displaying when logging in. Added a notice that is displayed if the DataLocation drive is unavailable. A re-write to the P Squared Hardware manager has added support for many more Advantech Cards. We have therefore changed the name of the card to "Advantech Card" rather than "PCI1750" as it could now be one of a dozen different cards. Interestingly, the Advantech PCL724 card is identical to the older generation of 8255 based cards. So as long as you have a license to use the Advantech driver (see www.advantech.com.tw), you could configure the driver to use your 8255 card as a PCL724 and Myriad would use it immediately. NOTE: You with 8255 based cards, you must cannot have a port configured to be an output (i.e. Port A) if a later port (i.e. Port B) is configured to be an input. This means the ports configured to be Inputs MUST be the lowest ports on the card. Changed some TCP/IP configuration on the PowerNet Server. This is due to the network control for OCP and STS evolving. v2.5.84b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Fixed a problem with closing the Search for Song box by clicking the corner cross instead of cancel. Changed the default "Fire when current has faded to..." to 65 % rather than the previous 40%. This does not affect previous installations of Myriad. Fixed a minor problem with importing old version 2 users databases that have since been deleted. We have given the hardware manager a new icon. Fixed a minor problem with the Cart Play Logs Report giving an extra item at the end of the log, that was allegedly played in 1899. Fixed a problem that allowed Users to drop audio items into the Q-NXT log, even when the rules about inserting a Cart or Track do not allow it. Advert File Settings has been removed from Myriad Configuration. It can now be found in the Advert Scheduler. v2.5.83b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Added some informative labels (!) to the Song Library search window. A new method of entering Terminal names has been included on the Powernet Setup Screen. The way you choose a Powernet ID number has also changed to a simple "point and click" method. From this screen you can also review which terminals are using which Powernet ID and therefore Myriad license. Because of this, Terminal names has been removed from Myriad Configuration/Global Settings. We have included a temporary fix in SmoothStream(tm) to workaround the bug in the Windows NT/2000 Echo driver that means the pause function does not work. When Echo adjusts their end, this will be removed. When running Myriad Live on a multi-screen setup, the Text information is now displayed on the second screen. Fixed Myriad hanging or giving a runtime error when installed on a computer with no sound devices setup. Fixed a problem with the new AutoConfiguration not creating several Powerlog related files. Added a new button to the front of Local Settings in Configuration. Date/Time setup is used to control the Radio Clock settings. These have been removed from Powernet Setup. Reduced the number of seconds that audio is Cached by SmoothStream(tm) to 2 seconds to further reduce memory usage and speed cart trigger time. When you insert carts into the Q-NXT Log the description lines are shunted up if you have blank lines. Fixed Replacing items in the Q-NXT Log and on Voice Custom when replacing with a cart. When you right click on Q-NXT to bring up the edit menu, the item you have selected highlights. It also no longer scrolls when you adjust items or change their Ending segue type. Voice Custom remains as it was pending it's integration into Q-NXT . When inserting an Item into the Q-NXT Log by dragging, or when moving items around in the log by dragging, the place it will be inserted into is shown by a line. You can now delete items by dragging them out of the log and onto the Edit button which changes to Delete. The information fed to OCP is now far more detailed, giving Item name and Artist details from the Q-NXT Log rather than the cart. v2.5.82b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Fixed a problem with "Importing" audio through Edit Cart only working on systems that allow file linking Previously when loading a Pad run, the Pad Length was not updated. This has been corrected. Myriad Configuration's automatic setup wizard has been improved to scan your hard disks and network drives for a valid myriad system. If it finds one, it will use those settings. If not it will prompt you for either a network or local setup. All the main Myriad programs (Live, QNXT,QNXTLive,VoiceCustom, Manager) have been updated to automatically run Myriad Configuration if it detects that your Myriad system has not been set-up yet. The Hard disk space remaining on Edit Cart is now the same as on the Cart Recorder. It also now updates during recording and after editing a cart. Improved speed of initial connection to STS and OCP v2.5.81b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET Fixed a problem with SmoothStream(tm) on single player Non NT/2000 systems where the Pad would pause the second entry just after starting it. Fixed Myriad Manager ending abruptly when starting a Cart Report. Added icons and corrected a couple of issues with the Cart Details screen. v2.5.80b - SmoothStream(TM) Beta THIS IS A BETA RELEASE OF MYRIAD v2.5 AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED ON MISSION CRITICAL SYSTEMS AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION. PLEASE REPORT ALL PROBLEMS DIRECTLY TO BETA@PSQUARED.NET This is the first release of the SmoothStream(tm) based version of Myriad. SmoothStream(tm) is the audio engine we designed for Powerlog and Scoop, and is expressly designed to improve the stability of the Windows(tm) multimedia architecture. Becuase we bypass all of the Windows(tm) ACM and Sound Mapper we have introduced many new features that were impossible before. It also allows us to use several new soundcards that have previously been unavailable becuase of the way the manufacturers have written the drivers. If you are using a suitable soundcard (ie Darla etc.) recording carts no longer takes up a cart player. Instead, a small "Cart Recorder" window pops up on the far right of the screen next to the Cart Players. This also has a level meter. This means you can play back up to 4 carts whilst recording a fifth. To stop recording, click the small button at the bottom of the recorder. New options in Myriad Configuration>Audio Setup allow you to change the recording format of Myriad. You can now record directly into a compressed audio format such as IMA ADPCM. For a full list of tested Compression Formats, please contact us. Another new option allows you to use level triggered recording. This removes the need to "Top" a new piece of audio. You can set the threshold that the recording will begin at. This is a proper level trigger, and does not crop the first piece of audio that is above the threshold like other systems. To alter the settings used for the Level Trigger, go into Myriad Configuration and select Audiowall Setup. The circle on each Cart that indicates whether there is audio, and whether there is an extro set has been change to a square to reduce confusion with the "traffic lights" on Q-NXT. If you want to, you can change it back on Audiowall Setup in Myriad Configuration. By default, Find Cart now looks from the start of the audiowall every time you search. This can be changed in Myriad Configuration under Audiowall Setup. Corrected a problem with Find Cart not correctly searching cart notes if they are stored in an RTF file. Corrected a problem that caused Q-NXT to fail to start if it's Q-NXT database was missing. It now prompts you for an alternate instead. Added more support for UNC (i.e. not using mapped drives) based configurations Corrected a problem with looping Pad runs that only have 1 item in them, and also adding an entry to the end of the pad run once the last item has started. Improved Automatic Configuration, and corrected several issues with the Network Setup. When Config detects that this is the first time Myriad has been run, it now asks if you want a network or local setup of myriad. Audio Setup has been much improved and now defaults to automatically managing sound cards and their respective players. This is becuase of the new SmoothStream(tm) Engine The 'Lock Hardware' and 'Display Recording in Last Player' options have been removed due to the new SmoothStream(tm) Engine. A new option that allows you to 'lock' a cartplayer whenever recording is happening has been added instead. This is used on non-duplex systems. Powernet RS232 support has been completely removed. We therefore no longer support remote Cart Players. Q-NXT will now by default only display Instant Carts in Q-NXT.EXE. Q-NXT Live will not. To change this, a new option has been added to Q-NXT Setup in Myriad Configuration. Several changes to Edit Cart - If you require more details, please contact us. v2.5.70 Increased speed of loading and opening the Audiowall for Windows NT/2000 users. v2.5.69 Added more Icons to the menus in Q-NXT and the Quick menu on the Audiowall Improved disabling of non-valid options in Audiowall when on empty carts or carts that you do not have rights to edit. This affects the buttons and the right click menu. Added an option on Audiowall setup to allow users to trigger moving carts around on the Audiowall using drag'n'drop. Myriad is now physically smaller than before as we are now able to remove some older code that is now redundant. This has slightly improved the speed of the system during some operations. The way that Myriad handles the 'songs' listing has changed to improve support for multiple systems looking at a Q-NXT Log. Corrected several bugs related to inserting/replacing items in the Q-NXT log from the songs/tracks listings. v2.5.68 Added a warning message to tell you when your license code is due to expire. The edit, copy and move options on the right click menu on the AudioWall are now greyed out if the user cannot edit carts. v2.5.66 Corrected a problem with the Q-NXT ForceFade system that caused it be active outside of AutoFaded hours. You must now press the Control - - key with the Delete key to delete a cart from the Audiowall. This is due to requests from users deleting carts when they mean to edit! You can now drag items from the Find Cart results into the qnxt log using the right mouse button. v2.5.65 Further increased security lockouts in Myriad Manager. Added a Print current hour option to Q-NXT. This has meant that the Other Information and Settings options have moved to an Advanced submenu under Other. v2.5.64 The Record Audio Button in Edit Cart is now fully operational. v2.5.63 Corrected a problem where the 'Jump to Cart' window made the audiowall disappear under certain situations. From v2.5.61 there was a problem where this update information window covered over the login box. This has been fixed. v2.5.62 Q-NXT now supports OCP information. At present this is in addition to the Web Output File (WIN file), but the WIN file will be removed in a future release as all outboard content (web/wap/dab/rds etc) will be moved to OCP. You determine which OCP server the computer 'points' at under OCP settings on the Q-NXT databases Settings window. You cannot have both STS and OCP computers connected to Q-NXT at the same time. To enable other outputs from STS, configure STS to talk to the OCP computer, and Myriad will pass the information along via STS. You can manually 'poke' information to an OCP server by enabling the 'Allow Manual update' option under OCP settings on the Q-NXT database settings window. The Myriad Manager has a new option on Import Audio - Add Directory. This adds all the files in a directory to the list of files to be imported v2.5.61 Corrected several issues with Voice Custom/Segue editing that caused miscellaneous errors (ie OverFlow or Subscript out of range) when recording or positioning links. You can now use Login Names and passwords up to 20 characters long and can also now contain spaces. Fixed a problem where the Login box dissapeared after incorrectly logging in to the system. Users can now only view the details of other users if they have the appropriate access rights. Q-NXT and voice custom now display the notes from the Q-NXT Log, or from the carts on their respective screens. The notes area on Voice Custom can also be temporarily edited to provide a script area. This clears when you scroll the display. Clicking Review Link in Voice Custom now starts playback immediately, and the Save Link option is now available during link editing. Clicking Save stops playback immediately and saves the link. v2.5.59 Q-NXT has been slightly altered to speed up the segue between carts by slightly delaying the 'Blue Dotting' of the previous item. v2.5.57 In Myriad Manager you can now run the 'Cart Report' with more options than just 'all carts'. You can give a start and end cart number, whether to show all carts, compressed carts, or just linear carts. You can also show carts that have 'large' (oversize) extros, and also carts that the audio file is a different length from the cart. This usually can only happen if you edit the cart outside of Myriad. Corrected a few issues with the 'Linked' cart system. If a new audio file is detected, Myriad only creates a 'New Audio Found' cart if the audio file is valid. This is to prevent premature creation of a cart when another program is still creating the file ( ie during WinDAC). The m2controls.ocx file has been updated and will need to be installed for this feature to work fully. v2.5.55 Improved error handling when a user cancels a cart copy or move. Improved User and QNXT security in Myriad Manager so if a user logs in they are not permitted access to User and QNXT maintenance functions. v2.5.53 Further improved "Low disk space warning" v2.5.52 "By popular demand" The 'Jump' function in Q-NXT is no longer needed. Playout will start from the item that is highlighted when you change from 'Standby Mode' (effectively Q-NXT clicks the Jump for you). The Jump button has been left in for the time being so people feel happy about themselves (well the system). You can now limit the 'Find Cart' function so that it only returns carts that are close to a given length - ie 3:30 give or take 10 seconds. You can move items around in the Q-NXT log by 'dragging' them around by the right mouse button. v2.5.51 Corrected an error on Windows 95 giving error 91 in Voice Custom. This is similar to the issue fixed in v2.5.47 v2.5.49 Improved the way Myriad detects new carts. v2.5.48 Voice Custom Carts are now stored between 8001 and 8999 on new Myriad systems Adjusted the way Myriad handles soundcards to remove fader swapping issues (again...) v2.5.47 Fixed a problem with running Q-NXT on Windows 95 resulting in a Run Time error 91. Added a new option in Myriad Configuration under advanced in Audio Setup to allow carts to be linked to external wav files. If this mode is used, you can 'link' a cart to a wav file that is not in the Myriad Audiowall. The linked file is not copied onto the system, and instead remains in it's original location. When the user plays the cart, they are unaware that this is happening in the background, and can use it as if it was a normal cart. The Block import in the Myriad manager now has the option to link to the files, rather than actually copying them onto the system. You can now have up to 10 jump buttons at the top of the Audiowall. To alter the number of buttons, and what they are assigned to, Go to audiowall setup in Myriad configuration. v2.5.46 The Automatic configuration utilities in Configuration have been moved to a new tab so reduce confusion, and can now automatically detect Echo Audio cards and adjust the Advanced Audio settings appropriately. You can now save Global instant Carts from the audiowall v2.5.45 Improved the way Myriad 'Shuts down' to correct problems with some systems having an invalid page fault on quiting or restarting Myriad programs Some fields inside User management have been enlarged to cope with more characters. Unfortunately this only applies to new databases. To have larger fields on an existing system, you must delete the users25.mdb file and reenter your data. v2.5.44 Improved reliability when a third party web server displaying WinWin information crashes. The Myriad Manager now has captions under it's buttons to explain their functions. You can now Purge parts of the Q-NXT database, re-index the database and unschedule advert breaks from inside the Manager. The Myriad Manager can now import a large number of audio files in one go, and even read separate parts of the filename into Line 1 and Line 2. The option is on the AudioWall tab. Configuration has been slightly re-arranged so the buttons are in a more logical order. Cart player colour controls have moved from "Audiowall Setup" to "Audio Setup". The audiowall can now be set to update (redraw) itself automatically every few seconds. This is usefull in a multi-user setup. The option is on the bottom of "Audiowall setup" v2.5.43 The name of the Q-NXT Database currently in use is now displayed on the blue window bar at the top of the screen. The Play, Clear and up and down buttons on the Pad on the Audiowall are now only enabled when they can be used. v2.5.42 The way a Q-NXT system talks to STS systems has been rewritten, solving the triggering delay problem when Q-NXT segues through items, even if they are to be played by Q-NXT not STS. This was caused by the screen being updated too many times. AutoRestarting Q-NXT has been improved for systems that prompt for a Q-NXT database at startup so that you are not required to select a Q-NXT Database. It now automatically reloads the previously running Database. v2.5.40 The long awaited Myriad Manager Beta has now arrived. This has also heralded the arrival (sorry, sounded a bit marketing'y) of the new 2.5 Users Database. This includes all the old stuff, plus extras like Account expiry and automatic deletion functions, user history (track what they got up to!) and a new user group facility that allows you to change access rights across a group of people, rather than having to change each user individually. The first time you run any of the programs, you will be prompted as to whether you want to automatically import the old users. You should answer yes, but if you don't go into Myriad Manager and choose the import options from the File Menu. To Maintain the users, you now do this through Myriad Manager. There are many options still awaiting completion, but the program is mostly functional. A full list of the functions cannot be provided here, but help files will follow once the manager is finished. A new option is available on the Login Screen that allows you to change your password immediately after you login. v2.5.39 The front window of Configuration has been slightly change to include a new button at the top left of the screen on Local Settings. Clicking on this repeats the Automatic Local Configuration process. A second button has been added in the same place under global settings that performs a simliar process, but sets Myriad to use network drives M: and U: Fixed a problem with Powernet setup incorrectly displaying an hourglass for the mouse if you re-enter the screen. v2.5.38 Removed the nescessity to install several unused ActiveX Controls (softbttn.ocx, mscal.ocx) Fixed a problem with Myriad configuration's automatic Configuration when installing on a computer that does not have Myriad v2 installed. Improved speed of Automatic Configuration, and increased overall speed and reliability of Myriad Configuration v2.5.36 Default Hotlists have been removed. Instead, the system loads the relevant information from the QNXT v2.5 Database. After loading the database you will be asked for a Q-NXT v2 database to use for log information. To stop this happening, go into Myriad Configuraion>Q-NXT Setup and choose a default Q-NXT v2.5 database. then click settings, and choose a default v2 database to use. From now on it will load automatically. The model that Myriad uses when Q-NXT is running and 'is in charge' has changed. The settings previously known as Network Control have been renamed to Station Control. This allows the same settings to control STS, DAB and WEB information. v2.5.35 Added primary support for QNXT to output WIN information for web display. Corrected a problem with Other jumps where if yuou have more than 5 buttons, the other jumps window would not be wide enough to display them all. When creating a new jump button the default text displayed when you are asked for a button caption is now the first line of the cart you have chosen. When importing a cart, the filename is now displayed as the first line, and the other lines are now blank. v2.5.33 Rewritten the Automation Configuration system to correct issues with Myriad 2.5 only systems. Cart Bevel width now defaults to '3' v2.5.30 Many changes including implementation of Myriad STS, Configurable Q-NXT Log Fonts, new look to Q-NXT information areas and edit menus, and a new clock on the Audiowall v2.5.23 Hardware tests at the end of items in Q-NXT has been re-implemented. v2.5.17 Corrected a problem with adding items to the pad that are shorter than 1 second long. Adjusted the method used to route audio to soundcards to correct an issue with the Waveform fill files not unloading or causing 'Alias' messages. If you start a pad run and set the system to start at the end of a currently running item, the item is now added to the top of the pad. When the pad is stopped or comes to an end, it is automatically removed from the list.
